Indian Shopping Festival
Indian Shopping Festival (in conjunction with India Week) is a nationwide retail celebration created in collaboration with Sri Lanka’s leading lifestyle and shopping destinations—Havelock Mall, Galle Face One, Colombo City Centre, Marino Mall, Kandy City Centre (K-Zone), and Jaffna—designed to deliver the country’s biggest mid-season spending moment ahead of the New Year. Positioned as the “Black Friday version of Sri Lanka,” the festival runs for one high-energy week, bringing together brands, malls, and consumers under one unified calendar of special offers, exclusive deals, bundles, flash sales, and surprise giveaways.
Built to drive mass footfall and measurable sales uplift, the Indian Shopping Festival converts India Week excitement into retail momentum through coordinated promotions, on-ground activations, and high-frequency digital communication. Shoppers can expect limited-time discounts across fashion, electronics, beauty, lifestyle, dining, and entertainment, supported by strong in-mall branding, influencer and media coverage, and interactive experiences that keep audiences circulating across multiple zones and partner malls—while also extending the celebration into Jaffna, strengthening national reach and inclusivity.
To maximise brand participation, the festival will also feature a dedicated activation/stall zone for partners who are not permanently based inside a shopping centre, ensuring equal visibility and access to high-intent shoppers. Daily programming will include midday and evening live entertainment, along with special guest appearances to drive peak-time crowds, amplify social sharing, and increase time spent in-zone—creating a powerful conversion environment for all participating brands.
As a strategic commercial pillar of India Week, the Indian Shopping Festival strengthens the Sri Lanka–India celebratory narrative while delivering a powerful economic outcome: increased spending, stronger brand engagement, and a fresh, modern retail tradition that Sri Lanka can own every year.
